we recommend hemp oil. Hemp Oil is rich with proteins, vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. It's excellent for all skin and hair needs
Hemp oil is from the seed of the hemp plant that contains between 25-35% oil by weight, which is high in essential fatty acids. Cold-pressed, unrefined hemp oil is light green, with a nutty, grassy flavour.
Refined hemp oil is clear with little flavour or nutrients. It is widely used in body care products, lubricants, paints and industrial uses. Antimicrobial properties make it a useful ingredient for soaps, shampoos and detergents.
Hemp seed oil is natures most perfectly balanced oil, containing Omega-3 Linolenic Acid and Omega-6 Linoleic Acid. These are Essential Fatty-Acids also known as EFA'S. Your body needs these EFA'S for tissue repair and growth.
Hemp oil is one of the few oils that contains measurable levels of gamma-linolenic acid, an omega-6 fatty acid that is synthesized in healthy persons from linoleic acid. Supplementation with gamma-linolenic acid may be useful in treating atopic eczema, premenstrual syndrome, diabetic neuropathy and arthritis in patients in which this synthesis process is impaired
Hemp Seed Oil contains significantly more EFA's (Essential Fatty Acids) than Flax seed oil (80% vs. 64%). The fatty acid composition of hemp seed oil (68.5% linoleic, 13.4% linolenic) meets human nutritional requirements (linoleic : linolenic ratio 3:1) much better than flax seed oil (linoleic 13.4%, linolenic 50.8%). *
Hemp seed oil is highly perishable. As the Yogis say "Eat foods that spoil, but eat them before they spoil." Hemp seed oil will warn you with a painty smell long before it is actually rancid. Our oil is expeller pressed with care to avoid air, temperature, and light. Bottles are inert purged and over filled to eliminate the air bubble and sealed for freshness.
Shelf life of unopened containers is 30 days at room temperature, 2-4 months refrigerated and 6 months+ in the freezer. Hemp oil remains liquid even at freezer temperatures. Once opened, care should be taken to exclude all air from the bottle before replacing the cap by either squeezing the plastic bottle or by adding water to bring liquid level up to the lid.
Store unused oil in the darkness of the freezer or refrigerator depending on the usage rate. Fresh hemp seed oil has a green color which becomes lighter with age. Our clear bottles permit easy color comparisons for quality. One tablespoon of hemp seed oil contains 10 grams of essential fatty acids.
The Hemp seed oil used in cosmetics and skincare products does NOT contain the psychoactive THC ingredient and is therefore not subject to any legal restriction.
The EFA linoleic acid found in Hemp seed oil, and its metabolite gamma-linolenic acid, has proven to have most beneficial therapeutic effects on the skin. Hemp seed oil contains 50%-60% linoleic acid and also contains GLA. The profile of the EFA found in Hemp seed closely resembles the skin's natural lipids, and therefore neutralizes the effects of dehydration, and thereby protects against dry skin.
Hemp seed oil contains fatty acids which contain glycerides, sterols and phospholipids. Fatty acids occur naturally in the skin and are helpful in protection against oxidative damage and can help with supplementation of the skin's intercellular matrix.
Young and properly functioning skin has ceramides, but with age this level decreases and the polyunsaturated fatty acids that make ceramides flexible are replaced by less saturated fatty acids, and the slower metabolism is conducive to wrinkle formation and skin aging.
The topical use of fatty acids help as an anti-inflammatory and also recompense for lower ceramide levels and thereby reducing the appearance of wrinkles.
Hemp seed also contains around 23% protein and all nine essential amino acids as well as two sulfur-containing amino acids - methionine and cystine - which are normally found in low quantities in vegetable proteins.
Some studies have also indicated that skin care products containing GLA (Omega-6 Gamma-Linolenic Acid) and LA (Omega-6 Linoleic Acid) - found in good quantities in Hemp seed oil, are effective in the therapeutic treatment of acne skin since it helps in inhibiting the inflammation and thereby preventing or alleviating "breakouts. The very high levels of EFAs (essential fatty acid) found in Hemp seed oil makes
it an ideal candidate to include in soaps, skin washes and cleansers.
