Wheatgerm oil is very high in vitamins A, E, D and essential fatty acids. Because of its high vitamin E content, which is a natural antioxidant. It furthermore contains squalane (which is involved in the process of cell growth) which is a natural bactericide and has great healing properties. (Not to be confused with squalene which is the same ingredient, but purified for ingestion) Squalane can also be made synthetically or obtained from the liver of the rare Japanese Azame shark.

When Wheatgerm oil is applied topically on to the skin it is said to help promote the formation of new cells, improve circulation, and is said to help repair sun damage to the skin. It is also used to help relieve the symptoms of dermatitis and its nourishing properties are most useful in dry sensitive skin.
